Description
Persian Rug:
This rug originates from Iran (formerly Persia), a region celebrated for producing the finest hand-knotted rugs in the world. Persian rugs are often considered the pinnacle of rug craftsmanship, with a tradition that dates back centuries. The Persian knot, known for its durability and robustness, remains unmatched today. These rugs are typically named after their region of origin, such as Nain, Ghom, or Isfahan, each representing a different city in Iran.
Natural Wool:
Made from high-quality natural wool, this rug offers many beneficial qualities for everyday living. Wool is extremely durable, capable of withstanding daily wear and tear, and with proper care, it can last for decades without showing signs of aging. The natural oils in wool make it dirt- and moisture-resistant, while also helping to regulate room humidity, insulate sound, and retain heat. It’s an ideal material, even for homes with underfloor heating systems.
Hand-Knotted:
Hand-knotted rugs remain the gold standard of quality in the world of carpets. The meticulous knotting process ensures these rugs are incredibly durable, lasting for generations. A higher knot density allows for more intricate and detailed patterns, but requires significant time, effort, and expertise from the weaver. While knot density is an important factor in determining a rug’s value, quality is not solely dependent on it—coarser rugs can still be of excellent craftsmanship.
Care & Fair:
As part of our commitment to ethical practices, we proudly support CARE & FAIR, an organization working to improve the lives of children from carpet-weaving families in India and Pakistan. Through this initiative, we aim to provide these children with a socially protected upbringing, improving their family’s long-term well-being and creating a brighter future.
